BENDALL ROB NORTON CARL WRIGHT JOE McCLUSKEY RICHARD MAZUREK HUGHIE DOCHERTY
NEIL TIDMAN
Carl
Wright who boxes out of Rugby will always be a big favourite with Coventry
fans the 27 year old cruiser-weight is a fearsome warrior standing at 6
feet 1 inch with the southpaw stance he is rated 11th in the u.k. by seconds-out
and has a record that reads won 10 (2 K O'S) drawn 1 from 11 bouts. Carl
goes in for his second title after winning
the Midlands Title at the sports
centre Coventry 17/12/2004 against the Lincoln man Tony Dowling. This fight
on the 18th june at the Skydome against Nathan Joseph who is 25 and boxes
out of Bradford will be for the vacant British Masters Cruiser-weight title.
Carl says he is really up for this and he expects a big crowd I remember
the first time carl fought at the AT7 centre his second fight he must have
brought at least 200 fans with him and yes Carl I think you are right if
all the advertised bouts come off with what looks like eight top class
fights there will certainly be a very big crowd on the night. I think this
will be the biggest night of boxing in Coventry since June 2003 when you
look back to the year 2000-2001 we had some great shows at the Skydome
lets hope this is the first of many more.Getting back to Nathan Joseph
he is rated at 34 in the UK record is W5 L6 D1 he will probably come out
with all guns firing for the first couple of rounds but with Carls class
and speed he will soon tire and Carls superior skills will take him out.

Neil Simpson Coventry's favourite
son in action against the world classed Peter Oboh. "Simmo"will be in action
on Shakespeare Promotions big event at Coventry's Skydome Arena fighting
Paul Bonson the 33 year old cruiser-weight from Castleford We have all
seen Paul boxing in Coventry he is a good solid honest fighter who has
gone in with a lot of top men including our own Rob Norton Carl Wright
and Mark Smallwood plus several top 10 ranked fighters in the U.K. he is
still rated 21st in the U.K with a record of won 19 (1 KO) Lost 77 drawn
6. Although Paul will come to try and win and put up a good show
we take Neil to get a good win. Neil who is now 34 has a lot of good fights
left in him he has been pleasing the Coventry fans with his skills and
courage for the last eleven years "SIMMO" has always been number one with
the fans and will still be number one for a few more years. "simmo"
record W 20 (9 ko's) | L 15 | D 0 | Total 35 still rated 11th in
UK.
It
will be good to see Stevie Bendall back in a coventry ring after a three
year absence once again no named opponent at the moment but you will get
details as soon as I do it will be nine months since Stevie fought when
he had his shot down in Plymouth against Scott Dann. As Stevie said he
was a bit out of sorts when he fought Scott Dann and believe me Scott went
after Steve from the first bell and Scotts body punching was vicious this
man is a worthy champ Stevie will be the first to admit he didn't stick
to his plan and paid the price on the night I have been to Stevie's last
four fights and the one against Scott was the worst, against Qato at Bethnall
Green Stevie was a bit disappointed but he did enough who cares what any
body says, the fight before that against Mike Algoet the Belgian street
fighter at Fountain Leisure Centre, London, Brentford, again it was
close but after 12 gruelling rounds after being butted and a few other
dirty tricks Stevie got eight stitches and the verdict (you earned it that
night) like you say Stevie forget those three fights and get back
to the way you were on the night you demolished the then highly rated Lee
Blundell inside two rounds at Fountain Leisure Centre, London, Brentford,
on June 18th thats the Steve Bendall we want to see. Steve's record W21(10
ko's) | L1 | D0 | Total 22 rated 5th in UK
Steve will now be fighting Ismael
Kerzazi the 25 year old from France his record is Won 7 (KOs 3) Lost
5 Drawn 0 Total 12, two of his losses were by way of TKO'S,
Kerzazi will be having his first fight since May 2004 he doesn't seem to
be in any French Ratings although he has stopped three of his opponents
he has also been stopped twice. Stevies record speaks for it'self he has
only been stopped once and that was by Scot Dann British champion and top
class fighter. Stevie will be really up for this and I can not see it going
past three or four rounds.

Rob Norton the 33 year old southpaw
Cruiser-weight who boxes out of Stourbridge can be one of the most exciting
fighters you will see in a Coventry ring on his night he is capable of
beating most of the top men his record speaks for itself even to watch
Rob training and sparring is an experience like a few of the other lads
he has had to get over a few hurdles but he is now on the way back to the
top his record is W26 (16 ko's) L 3 D 1 Total 30 and he is rated
5th in the UK Rob's opponent Jesper Christiansen has pulled out and they
are now looking for another opponent. Robs new opponent is Konstantin Schvets
from the Ukraine This 29 year old boxer seems like a worthy opponent for
Rob, Schvets record reads Won 18(KOs 11) Lost 3 Drawn 2 Total
23 with 11 Ko's to his name it looks like he can punch a bit Schvets alias
is "Knuckle Duster" and he is rated 5th in the Ukrainian Light Heavy-weight
division records. Looking at all the fights on the card this is definitely
the closest and it has the makings of a great bout Rob being the great
fighter that he is should be able to handle Schvets.
NO FIGHT FOR ROB ON BIG SHOW
Neil Tidman the 27 year old amateur
from Bulkington has now signed for Owen Delargy and makes his Pro debut
on the Shakespeare Promotions Show at the Skydome Arena June18th 2005.
Neil started his amateur career when he was eleven years old and had 69
bouts winning 49. Neil won the class "C" 71 kilo's Title at the Grovenor
Hotel London beating Andrew Larkins in the final 1997, he was awarded the
Freddie Mills award for most courageous boxer of the night presented by
the great Harry Carpenter. Neil was in the army for three years and had
27 bouts losing only 2 it looks like Owen Delargy has another good prospect
here good luck to Neil in his Pro career. It looks like new boy Neil Tidman
is going in against our old friend Leeroy Williamson the 31 year old Light
Middle-weight who boxes out of Worcester Leeroy's record is Won 12 (KOs
3) Lost 52 Drawn 3 Total 67. Leeroy is another boxer out of
the Nobby Nobb's stable who's kit bag is always packed ready to travel
anywhere he is no stranger to the Coventry fans he was beaten twice on
points over six rounds in 2003 and all time favourite Andy Egan beat him
over the same distance June 2003. This bout will be a good starter for
Neil against the hardy Leeroy go out and box him and dont take him to lightly
and show the coventry fans what you can do.
The second of Owen's boxers on the
show is the highly promising welter-weight Joe McCluskey the 27 year
old from Coventry goes in against Carl Allen the light welter-weight who
boxes out of Wolverhampton. Joe has made a promising start to his career
his record W 2 ( 2 ko's ) L 0 D 1 Total 3 although
Joe only turned pro a year ago he is already climbing up the ratings and
two or three more good wins will see him in the top 25. Joe will go into
this fight looking for a good win but not to under estimate the 35 year
old Carl Allen who is very experienced with a record ofW 18 (5 ko's)
| L 42 | D 5 | Total 65 and he is rated 27th
in the U.K. Carl has already fought in Coventry when he went in against
local favourite Baz Carey but dont take to much notice of this result Baz
had to retire in the second round with a badly injured leg. Carl has fought
a lot of top boxers but has lost his last 11 fights.
Richard Mazurek the third of
Owen's lads on the show was born and lives in Leamington and made his Pro
debut 18 months ago on the Leofric Show winning on points over 6 rounds
against Neil Addis. Richard who is 28 years old and boxes as a middle-weight
( I wonder if he will get matched against any local lads plenty good middle-weights
around here ) his record is WON 5 (2
ko's) | L 0 | D 1 | Total 6 Richard
is already starting to climb the ratings charts and is now in the top 30's
it is always good to see a middle-weight coming through with a good solid
punch. Richard has now been matched against Cafu Santos a bit of an unknown
quantity some records say he has won 2 and lost 3 others won 2 and
lost 2 I dont think it matters that much Richard go out there and keep
your unbeaten record.

Hughie Docherty is a fighter
who boxed out of Wellingborough from the Kevin Sanders stable the Middle-weight
who had three Pro fights between 2001 and the end of 2002 with a record
of W 3 (0
ko's) | L 0 | D 0 | Total 3 his last
win being against old favourite Tony Booth. Hughie age 23 has a perfect
Amateur record, winning all 25 of his outings and picking up NABC, ABA,
Youth and ABA Junior titles with his two fisted onslaughts. Hughie and
his 28 year old bother Francis were both very highly rated byKevin Sanders.
Francis also had a first class amateur record he was a three time National
schoolboy Champion and also claimed a pair of N.A.B.C Titles and an ABA
welter-weight title in 2000 in the colours of the Kingsthorpe club from
Northampton. Francis made his Pro debut 29/01/2001 and had his fourth bout
23/06/2001 winning all four fights 2 by way of T.K.O's
NO FIGHT FOR HUGHIE ??
GOOD LUCK TO JACK WEAVER
AND OWEN DELARGY PLUS ALL THE LADS FOR A GREAT SHOW
