Saturday 24th September Coventry Sporting Club are hosting a show at the Leofric Hotel at the time of writing this report Coventry favourite Carl Wright, and Leicester Boxer Neil Linford, along with another Coventry favourite John Paul Ryan and rounding of the show will be Dean Lloyd. There are no named opponents except for Khristian Laight who goes in against John Paul Ryan. Hastings Rasani has now been named as Neil Linford's opponent Les Allen informs me that Jack Weaver is the Match Maker.

John Paul the 34 year old who boxes out of Northampton is a good solid pro who will go anywhere for a fight his opponent on the 24th september is Christian Laight, John Paul and Christian fought a draw in John's last fight at the Cattle Market Melton Mowbray 25th June 2005. The result was a bit controversial but a good draw for John Paul after 16 straight defeats his record reads  W 2 (0 ko's)  |  L 17  |  D 1  |  Total 20 . John Paul's opponent Christian Laight who was born at Nuneaton and boxes out of Nottingham has the following record  W 1 L12 D 2 Total 15

Dean Lloyd the 31 year old Bedworth based boxer made his pro debut at the A.T.7 centre 13 September 2003 against Pedro Thompson although losing by way of T.K.O. round 3 he looked very promising, it is good to see him down to fight on this show his only other bout was against Mark Wall at the Benn Hall Rugby losing this time on points over 6 rounds 09-04-2004 no named opponent at this time.

Neil Linford has been sparring with WBO super-middleweight champion Joe Calazghe in the countdown to his comeback fight in Coventry next month. Neil Linford faces  Hastings Rasani over six rounds on September 24 and the former British, Commonwealth  and WBU title challenger from Leicester has had the best possible preparation. He spent 30 rounds swapping blows with Calzaghe, Coventry favourite Neil Simpson beat Rasani twice first in that fantastic come back in 2001 when he stopped Rasani in round four and again on points 2004. Neil Linford at 27 years old is rated just under Neil Simpson in the U.K. ranks at number 9 in the Light-Heavy Division. Neil's record is  W 15 (6 ko's)  |  L 7  |  D 1  |  Total 23  and this will be his first fight for him to start climbing back up the ranks.

More information as it comes in Cheers Jim.
